Empowering Firefighters to Achieve Success

Captain Branden Van Valkenburg has served with the Phoenix Fire Department for over 20 years, leading one of its busiest crews as Captain of Engine 35. A former Patriot Missile Operator in the U.S. Army, Branden’s journey to firefighting was driven by grit, discipline, and a passion for service.

Through his Next Gen Firefighter program and book series, Branden shares practical, no-nonsense advice to help aspiring firefighters succeed from ride-along to career. When off duty, he enjoys time with family, staying active, and supporting the firefighter community.

The work Branden does with the new guys is truly preserving the legacy and is much appreciated.
